UPDATE: Students of FUNAAB burn down police station and vehicles as 'anti robbery' protest escalates into violence




Students of Federal University of Agriculture Abeokua FUNAAB burnt down a police station and several vehicles after police shot tear gas to disperse their protest. Sadly the situation has escalated, students have been ordered to evacuate their hostel or get arrested. Our source says Ogun state police commissioner has ordered the arrest of 150 students to bear the brunt of the ongoing violence.



Information however gathered tells us that students occupying the hostel have Been appealing to school management to help secure their environ due to incessant attacks by armed robbers on their hostels. The VC allegedly ignored their toes which led to the protest today.

Police however claimed that miscreant too over the protest and blocked the highway which prompted them to use tear gas canon to disperse the student. But things got out of hand as students attacked policemen and burnt down a police post and several vehicles across the area.

Students were at first asked to evacuate their hostels but were later told to stay back as information filtered in that the police commissioner for Ogun statehas ordered arrest of 150 students.

Students spoken to says the students became outraged as a member of MAY5 HOSTEL AND ADEJOKE HOSTEL were stabbed last night.

Unconfirmed reports says one student may have been killed.
